Raynauds?

I'm having issues with burning hands and feet at times.

It feels like it's linked to my circulation; I can get very cold hands and feet. I have hypothyroidism and am on thyroxine.

Very occasionally in the past I've had white finger or toes but not for a while.

I feel like my hands and feet are getting stuck at the warming up stage if that makes sense? The blood flows back and it stays there, burning and tingling.

As soon as I get up it starts to calm down but then I get too cold. Hands and feet also v dry, no sweating or moisture which feels odd.

Its been going on and off for a couple of years, can keep me awake all night sometimes and can actually be distressing.

Anyone had similar? Gp has mentioned peripheral neuropathy but it feels circulation related. And worse during and just after my period.

I've decided to try more exercise as my occasional short jogs were buggered up by the latest school fiascos (part time teacher, kids at home.) but I'm not sure that's the full story.

Have you had your bloods checked recently as this is quite common, along with the dry skin, with hypothyroidism. Might be worth seeing if you need a thyroxine increase? The thyroiduk forum is really useful I find.

Thank you. If anything it was possibly a little high a while ago as I felt a bit buzzy.

I am actually feeling balanced thyroid wise. I'm an old hand at it after 20+ years! But I'll get a check.

The way it's linked especially to hormone cycles makes me think possibly also peri menopause.

I was reading about Raynauds and exercise; I've done some for the last two days and my circulation seems a bit more controllable. I'll perhaps do all the things that seem to help Raynauds and see if it helps.

It's the lack of white fingers and tendency to burn for days after an episode that I'm not sure if it is or not.

I have severe Raynauds and my fingers dont really change colour. Personally i would push GP on this, if left untreated it can lead to chilblains and ulcers which are really painful. Raynauds is very sucessfully treated with drugs like viagra(seriously!) Theres a very simple test the hospital can do, they will ask you to put your hands in cold water then put them under a thermal imaging camera that will show weather or not your hands are warming up. Remember Raynauds is as common as hayfever! Let us know how you get on.

I run around 70 miles a week and still have Reynaud's so not sure exercise really helps. I don't know anything that does, except wearing gloves!
