Bony lump on back of head

Can anyone help me tonight as I'm feeling quite fed up.
I've posted before about a bony lump on my head, I've had it over a year and had an ultrasound that said it was bone and there wasn't anything else showing. Was referred for a CT scan and because of covid that hasn't happened yet which is fair enough.
I'd sort of got used to it but woke up today and it hurt. Only when I put my head back though. I wondered about it affecting the nerves but I was worried so I phoned my GP. He said to see him in a week and a half which is the next appointment.
Can anyone offer any advice please?

Trying once more, really hoping someone has some experience of the above

You could ask the doctor to consider that it could be an osteoma? They are benign lumps, but if it's starting to be uncomfortable perhaps the doctor could chase up your ct scan. Hope that you can get properly seen soon

Thanks, I've read about osteomas. Can they turn nasty? I'm wondering if its affecting the nerves around it

Hi I don't have any medical qualifications, but suffered from a benign tumour (meningioma), so am interested in this sort of thing. I don't think they turn nasty but probably could cause localised pain, through pressure etc. I think following up with the doctor is the best course of action

Thank you for taking time to reply, I am booked in with the gp, just wondered if anyone had experience of this.

Spoke to GP this morning, not very helpful. Asked what I wanted him to do, said he didn't know what it was and if it was anything sinister and the only way to find out to pay privately for a CT scan. Anxiety sky high now.

So you were right itappleby, had my results today and its an osteoma. Told not to worry as they generally don't turn nasty.
