Sorry to be graphic - but what can this possibly be?? It is very slight but also very there. Looks like it would be the tail end of a period if it was mine IYSWIM.

Anyone??

Doctors!

Northerner · 26/10/2004 12:03

Could be a infection. Take her to GP.

bootsmonkey · 26/10/2004 12:05

DH is taking her to docs today - wondered if it could be linked to a UTI??

MrsBigD · 26/10/2004 13:09

hope all goes well at doc. could be linked to yti, but depends... when I had uti with bleeding it was very painful as one would expect and also was runnung a fever. does your dd display any other sympthoms?

Otherwise, could be what happened with my dd nearly 3... 'discovered her bits and sometimes scratches...

helsi · 26/10/2004 13:10

Could it be that she is holding her poo in? Might have slight piles or something.

Defo go to doctors.

mears · 26/10/2004 13:29

Do you use bubblebath? My dd had blood staining in her pants linked to thrush which is made worse by using bubblebath.

bootsmonkey · 26/10/2004 13:32

Doc says there could be numerous causes, so no re-assurance there! Taking a urine sample for analysis.

MrsBigD - She has no other symptoms at the mo. apart from complaining of pain inside and 'a little bit sick', but she did run a high fever 10days ago for a couple of days...

Helsi - she poos every day and no blood visible (the joys of potty training) so I don't think that is it, but thanks for all your input.

Will have to wait for the sample analysis...

Mears - she does use bubblebath, but not every day, but surely the doc would have picked up on thrush when he examined her??

sorry to sound snobbish... but we're talking UK doctors here... so trust mew they could have missed thrush, especially the older ones still seem to think that thrush is a std and therefore can't occur in kids....

Also I got tested once for thrush and alledgedly the test came back negative... the nurse read the results incorrectly! Do I need say more.

Hope the results come back soon so you can stop worrying!

MrsBigD · 26/10/2004 16:05

in case you're wondering why ranting on about UK doctors... I'm German and have been usually disappointed with medical services here. Only lucky once so far!

bootsmonkey - sounds like a UTI to me - would she drink cranberry juice? Also give calpol/nurofen.

Enid · 26/10/2004 16:21

meant to say, esp if potty training - easier to get a bit of poo in her bits - could cause infection.

bootsmonkey · 26/10/2004 16:36

Thanks everyone - I will try the cranberry juice - good idea! I think she may have a slight lingering infection that is on the move.

MrsBigD - docs exasperate me too - it is always a virus whenever DD goes to the docs and am always sent away with a generalised give Calpol if uncomfortable and keep an eye on her (No.... don't think I'll bother!!)

Will await results and see.

i had cystitis when i was about 8. the first i knew about it was blood, i dont recall pain. i never would wee if i could help it and thats probably why.

i remember being referred to hospital, hmmm must have been quick in those days , and doing a wee before going out, like you do, and then of course they wanted a sample and i couldnt!!

i suppose i got anti biotics and it went. i think i have had it once in my adult life and it hurt way before blood. but kids dont always say, especially when they are 2.
