Sedation at Dentist..TERRIFIED!!

I am having a tooth removed due to a huge hole which stemmed from me not going to the dentist for 7 years from fear, and am having sedation through IV for it. I just wondered if anyone can tell me will I be able to feel the pain from it being done while sedated? Will my anxiety actually go away or will a bit still be there?

I am absolutely terrified of even having a filling and am dreading the appointment. I think the root is infected so not sure if that'll make the extraction more painful too. It's so bad that the tooth has actually moved downwards and I am not sure why! Definitely beating myself up now for not going to the dentist sooner.

Do let us know how you get on, and good luck. I’m going to a new private dentist tomorrow myself for a consultation, as they offer sedation. I am also terrified of dentists and I reckon I need quite a few things done Sad

You won’t feel it at all. The best bit is that you won’t even care it is being done. Sedation is a wonderful thing.

@Matsunoki I will let you know!Smile

Thank you and I hope your consultation goes okay. Just have to try and remember that the consultation is the first step and one of the hardest but it means that you're getting on your way to having healthier teeth, meaning much less dentist hassle in the future! You're brave for even going to the consultation.
For me I was scared of being told what I needed done because I knew it was a lot but once I knew and an appointment was booked the anxiety disappeared a bit because I knew it was going to get better from here.
