What could this be?

Lately, I have found myself getting very clammy and dizzy when in shops. My legs also feel very jelly-like and almost as though they are about to give way underneath me. This has never happened before.

Obviously given the current situation, I am wearing a mask in shops, however I'm not sure if this is related as I work in essential retail and wear a mask at work, although at work I am able to have fairly regular breaks from wearing the mask when outside in the yard (no customers about). When out in supermarkets etc, I find myself needing to move the mask away from my face to alleviate the dizziness, clamminess as I feel as though I'm gasping for air.

It's really making me nervous about going for my food shop this evening, does anyone have any ideas what this could be or what may help? Any help would be appreciated Smile

Are you sure it's not anxiety? Covid makes people quite nervous and could be that?

Yes, it sounds like panic attacks. You'll probably find it helps to look at ways of getting more relaxed even when you aren't going to a shop. Try things like sleep hypnosis on YouTube (works really well for me), yoga or meditation. Obviously if there are particular things that are worrying you, try to address them in your mind or by talking to someone you trust. Hormones can play a part too, if you are menopausal or perimenopausal that could be making a difference. Try not to avoid the shops when you really need to go (obviously people ought to be going less frequently at the moment anyway) as this could make it worse in future.
