Any skin experts about? Please can you tell me what this is?

I’ve had these rough patches for a few weeks now, inside my elbows and around my belly button. It seems to almost disappear then flare up again. The chemist gave me some Daktacort as she thought it might be anti fungal, but it hasn’t helped. I’ve since ran out of Daktacort and now using Daktarin Intensiv religiously, but it isn’t going with that, and it seems to flare up while I’m having a bath. I’m also keeping the area clean, applying the cream three times a day, washing the areas in soapy water. Can you please advise on what I can do or use to make it disappear altogether? I’ve had ringworm before, but I’m not sure if it’s that again as it doesn’t look as bad as it was then. Many thanks in advance.

Early ringworm.

Ok, thank you @GADDay, I’ll keep at it with the Daktarin.

I get this! I use an anti fungal with some hydrocortisone in it (like canestan blue). Have never been diagnosed but the steroid does seem to sort it out.

That actually looks like it could be psoriasis

wineymummy · 06/01/2021 22:10

Granuloma annulare?

CarnageAtTheJanuarySales · 07/01/2021 11:18

Thank you @lazymum99 @Lemons1571and @wineymummy.

To be honest, it looks like there is a lot of dry scaly skin there, so will look into treatments for psoriasis and Granuloma annulare.

Psoriasis is unlikely to budge unless you get prescription medication. Emollient can make it feel better but it wont disappear unfortunately.

Thank you @lazymum99, I have an appointment for a blood test at my GP practice next week. I’ll show them the rashes then, see what they say.

Meanwhile I’ve smothered the areas in emollient cream, so hopefully they’ll feel better at least x
