My foot hurts!

Couldn't think what to call this thread...basically I have a problem with my foot which is annoying enough for me to ask on here but absolutely not annoying enough to take up a HCP's time at the moment.

Since having DD 18 months ago my feet are always aching but the inner part of my left foot is really bothering me at the moment, in an 'ooh ya bugger' sort of way, not at f-bomb level or anything.

I think my foot is collapsing in inwards as I step (I think I do this on the right too but it only mildly aches sometimes). I haven't changed my exercise level, pattern, nor had any new footwear. It's a burning sort of pain. Tingly, constant, even when foot is non-weightbearing. But I might wake up in the morning and it won't hurt until later in the day, or in the week.

What can I do for self-care other than sit on my arse which does seem to help a bit but is almost impossible due to aforementioned DD! Do I need some funky insoles or something?

Could it be this?....

Common causes of plantar fasciitis
Plantar fasciitis is caused by straining the part of your foot that connects your heel bone to your toes (plantar fascia).
It's not always clear why this happens.
You may be more likely to get plantar fasciitis if you:
• recently started exercising on hard surfaces
• exercise with a tight calf or heel
• overstretch the sole of your foot during exercise
• recently started doing a lot more walking, running or standing up
• wear shoes with poor cushioning or support
• are very overweight

Yep, sounds like PF. Podiatrist would be able to do gait analysis and recommend/fit insoles but that can be £££. Some companies specialise in shoes that help. Vionic are amazing and not to pricey in the sales.

Ooh thanks both I'll have a look into PF. It's been fine today and the only thing I've down differently is that the dog walk was about half a mile shorter and was on grass instead of tarmac. Nice little lockdown project trying to resolve this one I think!

I think I have PF in my left foot. It started a few years ago, then I fell pregnant and it disappeared! Shortly after birth, it returned again. I can only guess that the cause of mine is postural in this case. Is it worse in the morning? I sometimes struggle to put weight on mine for the first 10 minutes each day.

Sounds like PF to me too. Mine is helped by wearing orthotics in my shoes for any outdoor walking/activity, and I switch to bare feet/socks when I get home.

Arch support really helps vionics all have support & some New balance/asics trainers.
