Headache/dry mouth

If you periodically over the years had headaches and then developed a sensation of a dry mouth would you think a) dehydration
b) allergy/intolerance to a food
c) something else?

If it's likely to be dehydration, what's the best way to rehydrate?

Could be caused by 3 reasons. Dehydration - fastest way to rehydrate is sports drink but avoid sports drink then slowly adding water to your daily routine.
Second reason - silent reflux triggered by food intolerances. Also causes headache and dry mouth. Notice symptoms and if you have frequent tummy aches them talk to your GP.
Third - chronic sinusitis, headache and dry mouth are common symptoms. Could also cause post nasal drip, early morning sneezing.

  • avoid sports drink long use as it contains a lot of sugar.

Thanks for the replies @Literallyfedup. Silent reflux is interesting because I think I have that from other symptoms but didn't know those symptoms.

If you're chronically dehydrated, it can take several days to get your hydration levels to where they should be. Perhaps really concentrate on drinking enough water for a week or two and then see how you feel. For me personally, my need for water was increased massively as I've gotten older. I get dehydrated very quickly and it makes me feel terrible.
