Every morning. At the centre of my forehead and base of skull.
Only relief is sumatripan

For how long have they been happening? Do you wake up with them or do they wake you up, if that makes sense?
As you have access to tryptans, you must be a migraineur. How do these headaches differ from your typical migraines.
Some things to consider (as others have suggested) are:
Carbon monoxide
Dehydration
Sleep apnea
Hypnic headaches

I have had an awful heads since late evening on Xmas Eve. My D's kindly organised the Boxing Day buffet this evening so I just lay on sofa with eyes shut.

Callcat · 27/12/2020 00:59

Has COVID about a month ago and only now am I not waking up every single morning with headache (still most mornings!). Headache during the actively ill part of covid was all at the base of my skull too.

TartanLassie · 27/12/2020 01:09

Are you obese? Could it be sleep apnea?

wizzler · 27/12/2020 06:44

I have a headache if each morning if I don't sleep with a window open. ( not a carbon monoxide problem as it's the same if I'm in a hotel or someone else's house.. my head just resents stuffy rooms!)

DianaT1969 · 27/12/2020 07:30

You still need carbon monoxide alarms - regardless of the age of your boiler. I'd sleep with your windows open and air the house well until you get them.
Covid? You don't say when the headaches started.

ResponsibleAdult12 · 27/12/2020 10:41

I've been having these on and off a lot all year. I do suffer badly with my sinuses so it could be related to that. I've just got a special pillow for £16 from dunelm to try and help which I think in the most part it does. I don't think mine is helped by posture either.

SomelikeitHoth · 27/12/2020 10:47

Had them a while. I have to have window open at night (Yorkshire blood Smile
Not obese but am perimenopausal

Those who had this with Covid, was it your only symptom ?

QueenAnnaOfArrandale · 27/12/2020 14:03

@thebearschairs I had a headache for about a week before I had other symptoms, I then lost my sense of smell

JustDanceAddict · 27/12/2020 14:05

Husband herring tested today as he’s had headaches for about a week - put them in the Zoe app and they’ve recommended a test. Weird symptoms def need a Covid test esp if you’re in a high risk area.

Nearlytherenext · 27/12/2020 22:20

@thebearschairs
For me it was my only symptom for the first 5 days. Then the body aches hit me.

I had one temperature spike in day 5, but since then just terrible headaches and back ache. I tested positive on day 3.

shrumps · 28/12/2020 15:44

I had this and eventually went to the GP who referred me for a CAT scan - it turned out to be nothing - probably peri menopausal migraines but waking up with headaches can (rarely - don't panic!) be symptomatic of other things so it's worth getting it checked out.

Frozenintime · 28/12/2020 22:28

I've used a snoring app and a couple of time a night it's "loud". Now trying snoring strips. Also interested to see another other thread about quitting diet sodas. My 3 cans a day of diet coke could be a problem

cataline · 28/12/2020 22:41

How often are you taking the sumatriptan?

They can be the cause of 'rebound headaches' if you use them frequently.

This. If it continues please get it checked out properly.

SomelikeitHoth I'm in Yorkshire too!

longtompot · 28/12/2020 23:33

I found out when I was diagnosed with anaemia and was tested for it that my early morning headaches went. I thought they were alcohol induced, but when I did sober for October and was still getting them, something else was up.
