Some of you may remember i had to take dd 13yrs to bimingham children's hospital for a EEG because she is having some sort of fit.
Just had a letter with the results stating:

The EEG doesn't show any clear epileptiform abnormalities, but there are some non specific minor abnormalities in the form of sharpened theta waves posteriorally and more during photic stimulation, which may be due to excessive sensitivity to visual stimuli.

That is all the letter says apart from dd will be reviewed in clinic as aranged.Which we are waiting a appointment for.

Anybody understand any of the above and can give any advice please.I wish they hadn't sent anything through like they said they wouldn't.I was told they would give us the results next time we had a appointment, now i am going to worry til we see the consultant.

Hmm, would hate to try and diagnose what that meant as it sounds like gobblidigook...Can you take it to your gp to at least reassure you?

It sounds like they are saying they can't see the signs of epilepsy and that your dd is extremely sensitive to stimuli such as flashing lights. However, I am not a neurologist, merely a nurse!

Thanks for your reply CaptainCaveman i understand what you are saying.I remember the consultant saying a EEG can show signs of epilepsy without them having it and the other way round. So the only 100% way of knowing was to see DD having a "fit" but a EEG was done has a starting point.I have got to wait til Dec to go back to the hospital.
