Smear test

Can anyone offer any reassurance about this please... I had a routine smear 3 years ago return with borderline changes however HPV was negative so nothing further done, I was concerned at the time so asked a GP about wether I would have a follow up smear sooner than 3 years, they said no due to not HPV positive.

Fast forward to today 3 years later & I go for my routine smear only for the first thing the nurse to ask me was 'can I ask what happened after you had borderline changes at your last smear?' Sad

So I explained nothing happened and I had queried it but also about HPV so she said that would be why.

I've been left feeling very worried and like I should have chased up having another smear before now, and also hoping my new smear comes back HPV negative too.

Has anyone had similar? Was your next smear ok?

I’m assuming this.

Borderline or low grade dyskaryosis / negative for high risk HPV

What it means: Some abnormal cell changes are noted but there's no evidence of high risk HPV. You're at very low risk of developing cervical cancer before your next next smear.
What you should do: Attend your routine smear in three to five years depending on your age.

You can’t actually have a smear before recall as the lab will not test the sample, unless you pay privately of course. Try not to worry -easier said than done I know. I hope you get your results quickly and they put your mind at rest Flowers

Thank you @SilentScreenQueen Thanks
I think it's just hard not to worry, but they did say I'd hopefully get a letter within 2 weeks so shouldn't be too much of a wait.
