B6 toxicity

Does anyone have any experience of this? My level is very high (over 1000?). I only take an over the counter multi vitamin, nothing super strong. The GP had said to take no supplements for 3 months then recheck as the first line of investigation. It explains some strange symptoms I've been having. I also have very low alkaline phosphatase which could point to hypophosphatasia but that is super rare apparently.

Having those levels of B6 is almost impossible on food - unless you eat a packet of nutritional yeast a day - since it is a water soluble vitamin.

Unless you have overdosed your multivitamin, it could have toxic levels of B6 listed ( what does the label say?) .or a lab error which would warrant a recall of the product nationwide.

So if it not food and not a supplement that is to blame, the third possibility is a genetic mutation in a gene called MTHFR which is the short name for Methylene-TetraHydroFolate Reductase .

This page explains it better than I could

Don't worry @DrCoconut it is easily solved if you have the mutation. Have a look at the FAQ to see how to get test and what to do. mthfrsupport.com.au/faqs/
I am in Australia , so you should look for a lab in UK, but I gave you the link because it is quite well done.

I am not sure, I would wait 3 months.
