I have suffered on and off with recurrent iris and kidney infections for a decade so I sympathise with you. The cause of mine was a structural mutation in one of my kidneys but a few lifestyle changes have reduced the frequency of infections immensely.

I no longer drink alcohol at all, limit myself to one coffee a day and no soda. I take cranberry supplements and drink a minimum of 2 litres of water every day. Never hold it in, go to relieve yourself as soon as you feel the urge and immediately after sex. I also shower before sex and ask the my husband at least washes his hands and rinses too.

Unfortunately some of us are just more prone to getting utis through everyday activities.

Just wondering are you given antibiotics every time you have symptoms? Perhaps consider adding a probiotic as well to keep your gut happy.

*UTIs

I'm the same, it's miserable as sin.

Only thing that keeps it at bay is shed loads of water. I panic if my urine is any darker than pastel yellow. Still get them occasionally but this has reduced is massively, as well as making sure I wee straight after sex. Not the most romantic thing but has to be done!

I've read really good reviews about D mannose supplements but not tried myself

I had surgery for this (urethral dilatation) and it was marvellous for about 10 years with no UTIs. Unfortunately I’m starting to suffer again but the last 10 years were heavenly!

Please take D Mannose regularly. It's a game changer.

Thank you so much for all your replies when I started having them I did have infections but then there was none so I just didn’t bother going to the doctors because they said there was no infection so not much that can be done , I made lifestyle changes for 6 months and nothing got better I stopped drinking on weekends and I don’t drink fizzy much but I was on water and I didn’t have sex in a while just to see what was causing it and I still got one it’s the worst thing for me I can’t go to work because mid shift if I dare go the toilet it brings it on it’s a constant battle but my appointments have been pushed back now due to covid it’s just never ending :(
