NO you shouldn't unless you have a chronic disease which, if you caught, flu could make things more serious.Vaccination in pregnancy should really be avoided if poss.
Same for your DD unless she has a chronic condition i wouldn't personally bother.
I assume you would have to pay for your jabs?

taliac · 20/10/2007 21:29

Suggested by Doc, didn't say anything about paying.

Said I'd think about it..

I wouldn't

FiL had the 'flu jab and the pneumonia jab in September last year.

He caught 'flu at Christmas and died in February. His death certificate stated pneumonia as the cause.

He was 80, so not a child. But it scared me and made me very sceptical of jabs.

Personally I wouldn't unless your child has a chronic condition. I am a mother of a child with a chronic condition and by the time ds2 was well enough for the jab last year, there were none left . I am ubsure if it was because they genuinely ran short or if people with no medical problems were coming in and having or paying for jabs.

Children get ill, it's a fact of life and although not pleasant for anyone involved, normal healthy children are likely to recover just fine. The risk to those with chronic conditions are serious complications or death. Priority should be given to those in real need.
