Anyone have medical insurance?

I currently have beneden, bit recently needed an x-Ray, they wait was long and beneden weren’t particularly helpful so I just paid myself.

Thinking of joining something similar to bupa, but wondering is it worth it, and how much does it cost you a month?

Try Aviva, AXA PPP or Cigna for quotes. I work in private healthcare and Benenden can be quite particular and as you say not very helpful!

All of the above are good to deal with.

I have Bupa through work for the whole family. I love it. So easy and quick to speak to a GP (usually get an appointment in a few hours). We have needed a referral a few times for the children and seen a consultant/mri scan within a few days for something non urgent which we would probably need to wait months and months for on the NHS.

I am with Aviva through work, excellent when I have used it. Definitely get the private health care if you can different world

I have always found Benenden really helpful OP, sorry to hear this wasn’t your experience. Private Health insurance will come at a much higher price, but if you can afford it why not, if it brings you peace of mind. Good luck.

If you are young and reasonably healthy ( not overweight or a smoker) you can get insurance from around £35 a month. You can also set an 'excess' where you share costs up to an annual limit and that reduces the premiums.

We have axa ppp through DH’s work. It’s really good. Especially being able to access a gp via video call pretty much any time.

I had a private consultation a few weeks ago, and ds has one next week. Very quick and easy to arrange. When dd has had hospital admissions in the past and stayed in an nhs hospital we’ve been refunded money from axa.
