Gum disease - is excess saliva a symptom?

I am anxious that I have gum disease and I am getting a lot of excess saliva constantly. I had my 3rd baby 6 months ago, and 3 different dentists told me my teeth are OK.

It was after I saw a hygienist for a scale and polish that she said I had 4 and 5mm pockets - I have upped my oral health routine and am flossing more plus using interdental brushes.

It is dominating my life which is ridiculous. I am inclined to believe the hygienist who has said to come back and see her in a couple of months. But why would 3 dentists say differently?

I am probably over thinking it and over brushing. God knows... I just want to excess saliva to go away. It is driving me insane.

Any advice from anyone who had been through similar?

It wasn't for me - I only found out when a new dentist showed me the evidence and pocket measurements (my teeth were OK, too) and started a treatment plan.
The treatment was accompanied by a cleaning schedule (flossing, interdental brushes in proper sizes, regular deep cleaning appointments).

Excess saliva sounds like an entirely different problem.

Excess saliva can be a symptom of pregnancy so it could be a hormonal thing as well.
Someone I knew had it. She had to keep a container beside her at work and keep spitting into it because she couldn't keep swallowing all the saliva.

Saliva actually helps keep bacteria at bay. We don’t produce much over night hence why we get morning breath.

The pockets do need keeping an eye on, our gums do loosen a bit in pregnancy but if your brushing is good - diligent but not over zealous and you’re flossing and mouthwash etc you should be ok. Keep up the hygiene visits and I’m sure you’re fine.
