Heart skipping/beating faster

Hi, just wondering if anyone can tell me what this could be.

Basically throughout the day I've been getting a feeling like when you get a fright, so heart beating faster / skipping beats and tummy turning like I've had a fright.

Thing is nothing is happening at the time to scare me.

I've tried googling and getting different answers, mostly pointing to anxiety attacks.

I'm not sure if it is that or not. If it is, how do I stop/ ease it?

Anyone else had this?

Any advice would be very much appreciated.

TIA

Yep I had this. Palpitations, erratic heart rate, skipping beats etc. I was very anaemic from lack of b12 and folic acid. Unlike iron deficiency anaemia, it makes your red blood cells enlarged. In hindsight there were lots of other symptoms too - do you have anything else?

Thank you @Hazelmazel

I do get dizzy sometimes when I move too quickly.. feel fatigued quite a bit too, though I've just put that down to being so busy all the time looking after my little ones.

You need to see a Dr and at least get an ECG.

Your symptoms could be anything from completely normal (some people feel their heart beating most don't) to things that are quite serious.

I get SVT when my thyroxine is low, this is the opposite of what should happen, fortunately the first time it happened I was in a Cardiology department.

That's exactly what I used to put my tiredness down to! Broken nights for 7 years. When my youngest started sleeping through (at 4.5 😭) and I still felt like I was crawling through treacle every day, I realised there was something wrong. See a GP to get checked out, it may be something easily remedied.

Yes, get checked out by nurse for blood test, blood pressure tests. Some gp practices have ecg machines as well.

Thank you for your replies, I will definitely get it checked out. It's been happening for a while now, not sure exactly how long but at least a month or two every day.

Hoping it'll just be something easily remedied as you say hazel.

I do like my coffee too ( not loads ) which I have cut down since thinking it may have been that but it's still happening.

And yes to the broken sleep..10 years now 😭 youngest is just turning 1 soon, so many more sleepless nights to come I'm sure 🙈

Fingers crossed it's nothing serious.

Thank you ladies x

Palpitations can be caused by hormonal fluctuations, mine are. But best to get it checked
