If it’s a deep one it can be sensitive for up to 4 weeks

Thanks - so I dont need to annoy the dentist until 26/11!

My next appointment is in 16/12 so fingers crossed

I had a really deep one in Feb and was in pain for a week afterwards. I wasn't prepared for that as people said it was nothing but I think they were talking about small fillings on the top surface of the tooth. Mine was between teeth near the gum so they had to almost hollow the tooth to get to it. So I guess it depends on the filling!

That sounds like mine

Ouch!

I had a very similar filling in August - between two molars and close to the gum. I had a lot of dull, throbbing, pain for the first week, then lower levels for about another ten days. It's fine now though!

Thanks - you have all given me hope as I'm only 2 days in

There is a large lump on my gum where the needle went in! And my whole jaw aches but I was in the chair for over 1.5 hrs

Yes sounds about right, I was in pain for 2 weeks after a deep filling, took really strong pain killers, found dentist really unsympathetic but - it did go away on its own and no problems since 🙏

Hang in there OP.
For me I had no idea to expect this so I honestly thought something had gone wrong and I would have to lose the tooth etc. No one told me this could happen.

My dentist recommended using Colgate pro-sensitive toothpaste for a week or so after a large filling and it did help calm things for me.

Thanks everyone, I feel quite a bit better today Grin

It is still cold sensitive but I have hope that it will be better in time

That should also calm down from my experience with a big filling
Honestly I was in such a panic. I wish someone had told me this
