Hernia and gallstones support

I have gallstones, they want to remove them but I’ve put it off due to work. I know, I’m an idiot.

I now have what I think is a hernia. The GP wasn’t sure so has referred me for a scan to check. However in the wk since the GP appointment I’ve gone from having no pain to pain constantly when standing/walking/bending.
I’m scared.
Can’t get another GP appointment until the 11th and if we go into further lockdown I imagine that will be cancelled.

So

  1. any advice?
  2. has anyone had a hernia repair? What was your experience?
  3. has anyone had a hernia repair and gallbladder removal all at once??

I have no one in RL to talk to.

Hi I will come back to this as am rushing but I had keyhole surgery for a hernia and gallstones at the same time. I was on the so called 12 week waiting list for around 8 months I think, this was 2 years ago in London.

Unfortunately the operation wasn't as straightforward as it should have been and I ended up very poorly and in hospital a week. But I think that was really bad luck.

I've had four hernias repairs and I had my gallbladder removed, all during separate surgeries. I found the recovery very easy for all of them. A bit sore for a few days but very manageable.

Thanks so so much for answering me!
I feel so embarrassed No partner and I can’t even tell my mum as she will freak out and immediately think the worst. My youngest is in y11 so has enough worry on her shoulders so I’m trying to hide it. I’m exhausted from it hurting so much!!
Should I seek an emergency GP appointment on Monday if I still can’t cope with the pain?
I keep thinking I should be leaving the
appointments for people who really need them.

If you are in that much pain, you are someone who needs an emergency appointment.

Op agree that you need an emergency appointment. I was given tramadol for the gall bladder pain but it also helped with the hernia pain. Sympathies - the pain from both is horrendous.
