Hospital care for chronic conditions and covid

I’m finding care extremely difficult to access. It’s full of slashed appointment availability, threats of no longer seeing patients etc etc. It’s horrible having to virtually beg to be seen. Worse almost, I find my dept has zero empathy. There’s no “sorry to hear that but I’m sorry to say I can’t see you til December”. Almost like they’ve had to attend the Prince Phillip school of empathy in order to cope with the demanding hoards. I’m heartsick for cancer patients who aren’t getting care but I’m also distressed about my own experience. I know the NHS is the holy grail and they are working under horrible conditions too. Dose anyone share this experience just now or generally?

I agree! I'm STILL waiting on 2 operations for separate things, 1 relatively serious and 1 just downright painful!
I also have a genetic disorder that requires monitoring. But the department responsible shut down in march!

I read somewhere the figures of deaths caused because people couldn't access health care was close to if not higher than those who (supposidly) died within 28 days of a positive covid test!
