I think I have sleep apnea- scared stiff

Constantly waking during night (not noticed being breathless but I don’t know if you do) Snoring very loudly, lost 3 stone last year and put it all back on again - I’m considering surgery as I can’t keep fighting my body like this.
I sometimes (quite rare but becoming more frequently) wake with a scream or a shout. My nose is stuffy all the time.
What do I do? I’m worried about being told off by a dr, worried about having a sleep study, will I lose driving licence? How do you live with a cpap machine? Will DH look at me like I’ve brought this on myself?
Any advice welcome. Don’t even know how I start getting an appointment in the first place at the moment!

Does your husband think you have sleep apnoea? He’s probably in a better position to tell than you are as he can see what happens to your breathing. Perhaps see if he can film any apnoeic episodes (if you have them) so you can show your GP.

I'd recommend some weight loss ASAP, you'll likely find it significantly improves when you do. Had the same myself before losing 3.5 stone. It stopped approximately 20 lbs into my weight loss

If you lost the weight before, you can do it again. And now you have the extra impetus of doing it for your health.

I wouldn't call the GP yet or envisage handing back your license! I'd start right now with a healthy eating plan with a calorie deficit and some walking each day and honestly, you could see a major improvement in this within a month

Your nose being stuffy all the time is a different issue. Maybe new pillows, non feather ones.

Is it just at night-time that it's stuffy?
