Pneumonia vaccination

Anyone had it? Did it make you feel grotty afterwards? I'm emetophobic and vomiting is high on the list of side effects so was just wondering what the incidence was?

Yes.

It was added to the child vaccination programme fairly recently. Otherwise you get it age 65 (?) or younger if medically indicated. I got mine following my leukaemia diagnosis (I must not have live vax any more, but had every dead vaccine going even if out of age range as it’s fairly important to avoid illnesses)

I got it at the same time as my flu vaccine, a couple of years ago, and had a very sore arm (it’s a bit notorious for that) but no other side effects

bodgeitandscarper · 23/10/2020 19:58

My daughter has just had it along with the flu vaccine, sore arm and felt unwell for a few days, but glad she had it.

8MinutesToSunrise · 23/10/2020 20:03

I had mine a couple of months ago. Bit of a sore arm the next day but no other side effects at all.

Floralnomad · 23/10/2020 20:05

I had mine a couple of weeks ago and had no side effects at all .

Muddypuddlesinthewoods · 23/10/2020 20:32

Ds and I both had it for medical reasons both had sore arms but nothing else.
I've had pneumonia I'd rather feel off for a few days than have again pneumonia.

I had mine three weeks ago along with the flu jab. No side effects at all.

nocoolnamesleft · 23/10/2020 21:44

I had mine for medical reasons. Bit of a sore arm, but that was it.

Mumisnotmyonlyname · 23/10/2020 23:02

I had it 2 years ago (it's last 5 yrs) and barely noticed it.

JamieLeeCurtains · 23/10/2020 23:06

I had it on its own a month ago.

As pp have said, a bit of a sore arm for a couple of days. Otherwise fine.

Plussizejumpsuit · 23/10/2020 23:07

Yep last year. Unfortunately I did feel unwell for a few days.

frokenslinger · 24/10/2020 05:29

I had it yesterday, 14 hours ago to be exact. Sore arm at the injection site and feels a bit hot and hard to the touch, but I feel completely normal otherwise. Also had the flu jab at the same time on the other arm.

BeBraveAndBeKind · 25/10/2020 22:42

Yes, I always get some swelling and stiffness through my shoulder and neck but it's never made me sick and I've had it on schedule for the last 30 years.

SheepandCow · 25/10/2020 22:45

I had it about ten years ago. Achy arm for a day or two. Felt fine other than that.

housemdwaswrong · 25/10/2020 22:47

I'm immunlscompromised and usually get a slight reaction to most vaccines. Was dreading the pneumonia one but it was fine. Achy arm on the day, that was it! Pleasantly surprised.
