MMR side effects - please help

My ds has his MMR vaccine 10 days ago. For the last three days he's had fever, blotchy skin and a low appetite. No other symptoms. I put this down to the side effects of the vaccine. But as we live a country with malaria I am starting to feel anxious. Can the fever still be from the vaccine, even after 3 days? And is the rash associated with the vaccine a small, dotty rash or can it be the blotchy skin I am seeing?

Would really appreciate hearing of your experiences with this.

They do tend to get the symptoms after about 7 days, tho I am not sure how long they are supposed to last. I guess 3 days doesn't seem too long. Will try to find out.

Doesn't say in the booklet how long it should last, just that it can appear 6 - 10 days after. He may have more trouble shifting it if he is a bit poorly anyway, or he may just have a sniffle and fever on top.
Has he got any bites, Malaria is transfered by Mosquito bites.

Thank you Band for looking. I also can't find anything about duration. No, no bites and no other malaria symptoms and tbh honest I am pretty sure that if it were malaria after three days he would be much sicker (he's quite cheerful - just has a fever). But malaria is so serious that I want to be absolutely sure.

As far as I know, the vaccine releases each 'illness' every three or four days. So after ten days all three are in system and that is when they can get a fever and be a little under the weather.

My three children, to varying degrees, were all a little poorly after ten days. I gave them soemthing for the fever and whatever they would eat and drink.

If you are unduly worried I would visit your health nurse, practice nurse or GP.

Better take him to the docs then just to be sure.
Think you are right tho he would be sicker. Can you call the docs and ask if you need to bring him in, that;s what I normally do.
