Hello all, I'm after your tips on how to stop myself from being CONSTANTLY struck down by colds and bugs. I'm a teacher so I know I'm probably being very naive, but I'm hoping that there might be some vitamins, supplements, herbal stuff, foods I can add to my diet that might help to ward things off?
I've just been off on Thursday and Friday waiting for my second Covid test (first was in September for similar symptoms, as well as loss of taste but that wasn't Covid either!) to come back after developing a truly awful cough which actually made my throat bleed, but again, negative, so no Covid I'm just obviously falling victim to every bug going.
Please could people recommend what you're using to try to fight the non Covid colds and viruses etc? TIA

Following as I’ve had a month of smallish ailments which I’m putting down to low immunity.

I’ve just started a chewable vitamin c, zinc and propolis supplement, multivitamin (berroca), and probiotic (mainly because I’m just finishing a course of antibiotics for an infected hangnail 😣). I also have an iron and B12 supplement I’ll have a few times a week.

I’m also going to start a bit of exercise - 2-3 longish walks (10 000 steps minimum) and yoga with Adriene 2-3 times a week (basically what I was doing before the month of niggles)

Vitamin D is mentioned a lot as well - there’s a spray which is apparently good.

I’ve no idea if this is the best approach, so following for more ideas!

Sadly I think this is linked to working with kids. when I first started teaching I was more ill with bugs than at any time of my life.

All you can do is a good diet, plenty of sleep, exercise and some Vit D.

The rest is all a waste of money.

I'm afraid I don't believe there's any way of completely avoiding it, but improving/maintaining overall health can help you not get floored by it. Just a healthy diet with plenty of fresh vegetables, lean meat/fish, minimal junk, good amount of sleep, and exercise. A multivit won't do any harm, but I don't believe they can take the place of good overall care of yourself.
