So many are having flu jabs privately as they’re not over 65 or vunerable
Is it worth it ?

If you want to lower your risk of getting flu. So if you really can’t afford to be laid up (ie sole carer if a child) or if you have health issues or scarred lungs etc.

A lot of my friends are paying for the flu jab to build up their immunity so as they don’t get a double whammy of flu and covid

I pay for it every year.

Torvean32 · 12/10/2020 19:23

I pay every year. I was ill with in Christmas holidays when i was a student. I'm lucky i was at home with my parents as i couldn't have looked after myself.
No way do i want it again.

notangelinajolie · 12/10/2020 19:31

I paid for it. I had flu 20+ years ago and it made me very unwell. It left me with inner ear balance problems and vertigo that flares up from time to time. I don't want to feel like that ever again - and if the jab helps my chances of fighting covid then it's a win win.

Summone · 12/10/2020 19:36

I pay for it every winter. A few vulnerable people in my family would hate to pass flu onto them.

nearlynermal · 12/10/2020 19:37

£15 at Boots. Definitely not taking any chances this year.

Hyperfish101 · 12/10/2020 19:38

I have a tendency to get flu every bloody X as! Not taking any chances this year. It’s usually horrible, paid for it at local chemist.

Suzi888 · 12/10/2020 19:40

I paid for mine this year as I get a really bad cough every winter due to a heart valve fault and was going to try it this year anyway. My mum is vulnerable and I care for her.

Boots have apoarently sold out. Waiting to see if they get more stock.
Judystilldreamsofhorses · 13/10/2020 00:58

I usually get it free at work but paid in Boots this year as WFH. The woman said they had closed bookings because it was so busy - people don’t want flu + Covid.

littlebillie · 14/10/2020 22:27

I'm 9 years having it every year and although unpleasant it is supposed to help with your overall resilience to Covid.

Tempnamelady · 14/10/2020 22:30

Can’t get it anywhere , I’m not officially vulnerable but I have thyroid issues so low immunity plus I had Covid in March and still have some after effects , so I’m worried . Currently on a waiting list with 20 in front of me.

Fluffycloudland77 · 15/10/2020 17:23

My dm was very ill with flu when she was 39 so I have it every year for the last 7 years or so.

I’ve never had flu but I’ve had viruses that have completely bedridden me all week so I’ll take the vaccine.

TeaLibrary · 15/10/2020 18:21

Yes I've had the flu jab. I have one every year. I had mine at the local pharmacy in early September and took my ECV mum and our elderly neighbour to have theirs done.
