Hi all,

I know some people will be totally agaisnt this and I am open to all opinions! My husband was diagnosed with brain cancer in 2015. He was givem 3 to 5 years. At the moment (touch wood) we are living relatively normal lives apart from fatigue sometimes. We are both close to 30 and thinking of starting a family. I know this is going to be difficult and a million things could go wrong. However, i am just wondering if anyone has/knows anyone who has gone through anything similar and thoughts on the topic.

I'm 'so sorry.

I think any decision you make is unique to you and can't be done with other people's input.

Take care x

I don't think anyone knows what's around the corner. You could be hit by a bus in the morning. I think if you both want kids that you should go for it.

So sorry that’s a shit diagnosis. As others have said, do what feels good for you both. It may give you both enormous comfort to have that beautiful distraction from your husbands illness. All the best 💐

That's a really shit hand you've been dealt, I'm so sorry ☹️ It's obviously a decision only you and your husband can make, but I would consider your support network. Do you have good friends and family around to help out, should his disease progress? Babies are wonderful and I totally understand you wanting to have one with the man you love, but I personally underestimated how you have to be switched on with them 24/7. Speaking to family about how much they'd be willing to help out might be a good next step ❤️

Sorry to hear of your DH diagnosis, OP. The thing I would say is that having a baby might make it even harder for your DH, as it would understandably break his heart at the thought of leaving your child. It would be a reminder of all he will be missing out on. When you have a child the worst thought is worrying for them after you've gone. But there's no right or wrong answer in your really awful situation
