Is this Wart/Mole/Verruca ?

Hello all :)

I (female, in early 40's) have this small bump thingy on my thumb joint since I was around 30.

It's sort of flat, but it's definitely there.
I don't think it has changed it's size/bumpiness much in the last decade (actually smaller than a piece of rice.)

I don't have any soreness etc,. but it's been bothering me cosmetic-wise more since I wash my hands more often than before since the covid-19 outbreadk.

  1. What do you think it could be?
  2. What kind of treatment should I expect, and price? (Do I have to go through GP? or direct to dermatologist? )

Thanks in advance!

Might be wrong but looks like a liver spot to me, my mom has one on her hand too, they're quite common

Seborrhoeic wart? Doesn’t need treatment unless it starts changing.

Thank you, I knew something called Liver Spot but I always thought its only for the flat one and usually appears on cheekbones? Does your mum ever tried to remove it? Has it changed the shape/colour at all?

Thanks, that's new to me.

Do you think the GP can refer me to do something to get rid of it
or do i just find dermatologist myself and treat it?

@Overjoyedd no she hasn't ever tried to have it removed. It is on her hand, it's gotten bigger over the years that's the only change to it

I had one on my forearm which I had checked at a Mole Clinic. They took a photo and it was sent to a dermo and a dr also looked at it on the day. It was an age spot and eventually, with a bit of help from me, went away.

Ask for a phone referral to your GP (to the one with the interest in dermatology, if there is one) and they will ask you to send photos. If they're concerned then they'll refer you to a dermatologist.

It's probably nothing, but it might be, and so you should have it checked. I've recently been through this with a mark on my face which had been there for years. It turned out to be a BCC, which I had removed. I've now been told it was an infiltrating BCC and so I have to go back for a wide margin excision.

Ring the GP on Monday, just in case :)

Evening. thanks for your reply! I hope you are recovering ok from the first BCC removal (at least it's not sunny now so it won't damage the scar too much, I guess)

Basically (a bit long sorry Wink ) Today I was able to use online doctor (through my husband's work) interest in dermatology. doc said it (the same pic I posted on here) looks like Seborrhoeic keratosis

Shock BUT in the past week or two, I've been using Oregano oil also Bazuka..
Resulting It cracked a bit and thin layer of skin came off. Now I can see a few "tiny red/black dots"
which I think usually the case of Plantar Warts - which the doctor acknowledged. (I had a possible planter wart on my foot when I was a child, thus I was able to tell)

Now it's a bit inflamed as I've used the Oil and Bazuka, I'll have to wait 2 wks, then contact them again.

Possible treatment seems like the nitrogen/freezing method.

Just an update : I ended up seeing a lady dermatologist. was told it seems Seborrhoeic Keratosis for her. She treated it with liquid nitrogen (Cryotherapy). I was told if if doesn't work, I can get another Cryotherapy, then if it's still there, she can "shave" it Sad

It became a blister, then became scab.
I protected the area really carefully by just having a quick shower instead of the bath, wearing cotton gloves etc,.) and not it is healing well so far. so thanks everyone, just wanted to update!
