Hip pain

dingledongle · 06/10/2020 20:13

I have been experiencing hip pain the last two weeks. It is worse at night and stiff in the morning and gets better as the day goes on.

Seen a physio who suggested lower back muscles have seized up. I have had one treatment and the hip is still sore.

I will continue with the suggestions of stretching my lower back but the hip hurts, inside Sad

Anyone had this?

I am 48 and wonder if hormones are to blame?

Or any supplements help?

Desperate Wink

Apparently turmeric is good but I’m terrible at remembering.

tinseltrauma
I use these sometimes but I just vary it all from utube, hip stretches

@Losingthewill8 @dingledongle Thanks, I'll give those a go. I'm looking for a 'cure' too! Don't want to accept it may just be a getting older thing I suppose.

I have hip pain. Both hips mainly at night and I can get stuck and can't move. Also just sitting on the sofa in a certain position. Haven't started menopause yet but just got Vitamin D3 to try.

Doctor gave me naproxen last year to take before bed but I always forgot to take them.
I definitely think my weight aggravates it.
I am going to try the magnet wrist band idea though, anything is worth a try.

Great losingthewill I will have a look at those. Wink

Does anybody know if it's the copper bracelets or just regular magnetic bracelet that might work?

Noidea2114 · 11/10/2020 10:43

I think magnetic bracelets are better, I tried the copper first and it made no difference.
If you do get a magnetic bracelet make sure that there are a lot of magnets in the links.
A torque bracelet only has 2. You need one that goes all around the wrist.
Mine has 16 magnets in each bracelet. I only have small wrists.

DustyLoafer · 11/10/2020 12:47

Thanks @Noidea2114 that's good to know.

dingledongle · 11/10/2020 15:07

What are the benefits of magnets?

I feel your pain.
the pain in my lower back was so bad recently i ended up in A&E where i received great care but zero resolution.

I would advise you to find a physio and ask for the most experienced person there, s/he will look at your posture, feel your back etc and diagnose you properly and treat from there.
doctors will prescribe pain killers or if you're lucky refer you on to a physio but it will be a long wait.
you need to know what's out of whack. it's often a lingering child birth thing and carrying kids etc

Mine has told me that my pelvis is uneven and one hip is higher than the other. sacroilliac problems and a dodgy spine. (technical term lol)
the physio has been brilliant and i have been told to do this exercise (i coudlnt lift my left leg when i saw her, a few goes of this and i could.)

good luck.

I've had hip pains caused by a congenital defect. The best exercises I've had are, pull in your stomach and bum and bend your knees repeat ensuring you release your muscles at them of each dip. The others are all done on the bed. Lie flat and bend one knee, lift your hips off the bed, repeat about 10 times, change legs and repeat. Next lie on your side bend you knees and put a pillow between them lift your upper leg from the pillow, change sides and repeat. This is the one that causes me most pain. Finally lie face down ,bend your knees and squeeze your ankles together.
