Did I have a TIA

In lockdown I had an episode where I felt I couldn’t write. Resolved but had tests done. Was discharged and told all looked normal. Got a letter a few days later saying saw mild attenuation on left frontal brain lobe and to take clopidogrel until MRI scan back. Usually NHS work on premise they’ll contact you if something abnormal shows up. I haven’t heard back (MRI was back in may this year). Anyway, on my repeat prescription request I asked the Dr to tell me if I should continue to take the clopidogrel and could he phone about the MRI (not wanting to take valuable GP time from covid etc). No phone call but clopidogrel now appears on my repeat prescription list. Then this weekend I’ve received an Eligibility request to have the flu vaccine which I’ve never had before (I’m 49). It says flu vaccine available to those who had. TIA? I’m therefore not sure what the final diagnosis was and this could really affect motor insurance and I’d have to tell the DVLA if it was but I’ve not had any word at all from the neurologist of anything abnormal. Husband days to make a drs appointment. Any others who had some thing similar

Definitely make an appointment to see/speak to your GP, and go from there.

I had to phone and chase up my MRI results. Could you phone the hospital? Or ask your Dr for the contact details of the person who ordered it? My GP only received a short letter and advised I contact the neurologist for details.

I've had a few strange things happen too, one where I couldn't speak. Couldn't even move a muscle in my face or make a noise, another i stopped being able to understand english! I believe they were TIA's. Shortly after I was rushed to hospital with full left sided paralysis, later to be told they were all down to migraines!! 10 years later, the recent MRI I chased up (for something unrelated) showed I had infact had a stroke!

So definitely worth chasing up as soon as you can to make sure you are given the correct care. 10 years after my stroke I have finally been put on preventative medication and referred to neurology for brain damage rehabilitation.
