Is this a migraine?

About 2.5 years ago I got some symptoms that I have had again since Thursday night. I went to the GP last time but they didn't diagnose me with anything, just said to take otc painkillers and come back if it gets worse.

Symptoms are:
Headache behind the eyes but quite mild, however quite sharp pain if I look up or to the side
Fever - sweating but shivering at the same time
Hot clammy forehead
Sensitive, tingly skin all over the body but no rash
Very tired and dazed

No cold/flu symptoms like a runny nose or cough.

Last time it lasted about 4 days but the tingly skin and fever only last for the first 2 days.

I'm sitting here feeling tired with a mild headache now, the fever and tingly skin have gone again, after the first 2 days.

I've just turned 44, the first time I experienced it was when I was 41. Wondering if it might be something hormonal.

Sounds viral to me OP. I get hormonal migraine and apart from the headache and tiredness that you have I don't get any of those other symptoms. My symptoms are more neurological- brain fog, extreme thirst, visual disturbance and sometimes I find it hard to speak properly.
I've never had a fever with a migraine in all the years I've had them.
Hope you feel better soon.

Doesn't sound like one to me either. I never get a fever (I'm usually freezing, actually), have severe pain (though that varies from person to person), nausea, light and smells bother me.

Yours sounds more like some kind of virus/flu (I say flu because I had the body sensitivity when I had flu a few years ago.

If you're in the window, I think you should get tested for covid - it can have some unusual presentations.

I agree with PP - I had what I think was Covid in March (didn't get tested as there was no testing then but I'm a nurse and many of my colleagues were also unwell with similar symptoms) and the weird prickly skin feeling was definitely something I noticed - also going from feeling mildly feverish to suddenly icy cold. I also had a headache then and felt really dizzy and fatigued. I couldn't get out of bed for a few days.
I think it might be wise to get a test OP.

Thanks all. The reason I didn't think it was covid is because I had exactly the same symptoms 2.5 years ago.

The last time I got it, I'd just come back from a weekend yoga retreat, so I wondered if I'd picked up a bug there.

We're hardly going out at the moment, although I know you can pick things up at the supermarket etc.
