Has anyone had Invisalign clear braces? How was it?

My dd is meant to be getting Orthodontic apps in the new year so I thought id treat myself too.

I was going to give smiledirect a go (i keep hearing the ads for them on podcasts)

smiledirectclub.co.uk/en-gb/pricing/

Anyone used them before??

Newgirls · 13/12/2020 15:00

I just googled reviews and the trust pilot ones seem pretty bad.

Twinkie01 · 13/12/2020 15:02

Smiledirect are not good. They move your teeth too quickly and you're in danger then of them.

Twinkie01 · 13/12/2020 15:03

Sorry in danger of losing them.

Doublebubblebubble · 13/12/2020 16:33

Oh really!?

There is an overnight option for 10months as well. Damn.

RBA14 · 17/12/2020 13:39

Just an update- I went to see a couple more orthodontists and the feedback I have had is that I will need 2 upper Pre molar extractions with either braces or Invisalign. To fully correct my over bite and midline discrepancy.
Did any of you have extractions with Invisalign? How did it go?
I am still so undecided!

Best thing I ever did.
I was amazed that people were so much friendlier, turns out it was because I was smiling more.

Summerhillsquare · 17/12/2020 14:20

I'm using smile direct, and yes, they move too quickly. Customer service is awful too. But they are cheap and the result is fine apart from a persistent wobbly tooth, so far.

Newgirls · 17/12/2020 22:24

Summer will the wobbly tooth settle down?!

Summerhillsquare · 26/12/2020 22:31

Possibly. I only managed to see my usual dentist once this year for obvious reasons and she said to leave it alone and see if it settled down. So I've been in the same trays since August!

Smallgoon · 27/12/2020 23:53

I'm watching with interest. Is there any way, for those of us that don't require drastic results, to just wear the brace at night?

wiltingflower · 28/12/2020 00:05

Currently completing a course of this for my top row of teeth where the front teeth were crowded and front two in the centre overlapped slightly. Total treatment price for Invisalign lite (13 aligners) for me is £1800 with all aligners and little accessories and zoom and phone meetings, fixed brace if desired at the end, filing, retainers, lost aligners etc included. My main concern is that I wanted corrected was to have straight teeth and by aligner 10/13 I have got that. I'm really happy with the process. I didn't experience any dryness or pain as some posters said but I did find that if I forgot to wear an aligner nearer the start of treatment it did feel a bit tight when put on again. It's inconvenient nearer mealtimes, especially at work, but overall worth it. I found nearer the beginning that my voice sounded a bit weird but with time and as I moved through the aligners this became better. Thinking of getting teeth whitened afterwards. Love my teeth now!
