Would a probiotic help?

Hi I get heartburn quite a lot.

I've tried omeprazole which worked well.
But I want to take something more natural on a daily basis.
Would natural yogurt help?
Or a daily supplement?

Any ideas would be much appreciated thank you x

I have tried Polish Buttermilk (known as Maslanka) you can buy a litre for about £1.20. I just drink a small glass every day cheaper than yakult!

Also kefir is worth trying

Thank you for that I will definitely give it a try 👌

Riv12345 · 30/09/2020 11:29

I saw doctor a couple of years ago and got prescribed it

I think I’d take the omeprazole. I have a vague memory the acid can scar the area.

Riv12345 · 30/09/2020 14:50

I got some kefir at shops just now going to try that too

Yeah it's not good getting heartburn.

You don’t happen to have an underactive thyroid do you?

Riv12345 · 01/10/2020 17:27

Oh I dnt know I've never thought about it

Is that one of the symptoms?

OP posts:

No, not really a symptom there, would be others.
It’s just that lots of people with hypothyroidism end up being treated for heartburn and the symptoms are often actually caused by low stomach acid.
