Looks like ds2 had this (his is gone now) and dd has it a lot worse She had ulcers in her mouth from last Friday and they're still there, she had some spots now too. How long do we have to stay in for as I think some fresh air would do her good.

i don't think you do have to stay in. it's not like chockenpox where it can have long term consequences should certain people catch it. dd had it at nursery but they didn't stop her going, a couple of them had it. no bigger deal than a cold really.

Hmm well she's in a lot of pain from the mouth ulcers and been to gp twice already. It's a lot worse than a cold for her. She has about 10 large ulcers. She's been up during the night, can't eat or drink with the pain and has been sobbing when she tries to eat. Managed to drink a little water today which is better but still concerned about that. Dr said to keep off school.

Just thought a short walk might help a bit.

Hi Toadie

Dont know if this helps but my nephew had it a couple of weeks ago. His mum was told to keep him away from other children for 5 days. He had to stay away from me for 10 days from when symptoms appeared as I am 6 weeks pregnant. We were advised by nhs direct that there was a small possibility that it can bring on a miscarriage if caught by the mother in the first 13 weeks of pregnancy. To be honest though my nephew did go to the park about 4 days after because he was miserable and stir crazy. He went during the school day so not many about.
