Recurring UTI after 2nd child

Hello 👋🏼

Wondering if anyone has or is suffering with the same issue as me? I have been like this since the birth of my second child.

I get recurring UTI's & it's getting me down.

I'm just pumped with antibiotics every time without the situation being looked into.

When my second child was born I was unable to urinate for a couple of days after.
No sensation or urge to urinate.

In the end I was sent to hospital after strict instruction from the health visitor. Once in hospital they drained over 1 litre of urine from my bladder & it was evident that I had an infection from the smell (sorry tmi)..

Ever since then I suffer all the time.

I pee before & after sex.
I wipe front to back.
I wear cotton underwear.
I shower not bath & don't use strong fragranced soaps.

I had an epidural with both labours but my second labour was half the time & fast delivery.

I don't know if it's the effects of the epidural or damage from catheter??

I would be extremely grateful if someone is or was in the same situation as me to shed some light on this.

TIA

Please be kind ♡

I'm not a medic, but have had problems post birth with continence etc and mild prolapse. I would guess a bladder or urethral prolapse (scary word- very common). Stops your bladder from emptying fully- therefore repeat UTIs. Push for investigation as these things can be treated by physio and/or surgery, but often women are expected to accept this as an inevitable consequence of childbirth. Don't!

Hope that helps?

Thank you for your reply.

I'm going to push at the doctors for them to investigate further.

It just gets me down so much & it's been like this for 5 years. It's awful.

I'm going to do a little bit of looking up & know my knowledge before going to the doctors!
