I'm finding that some shops lighting is really bothering me. I feel dizzy at the moment anyway because of sinus problems but it's getting bad now. Does anyone else find this?

JD I always feel "wonky" in Touchwood shopping centre which is our local undercover "mall" - always noticed it but felt stupid saying anything to anyone!

To be honest, I was starting to wonder if I was allergic to work, as I get a headache most days when I go in (work part time)- and never get headaches normally. We have old fashioned strip lighting in our office. I seem to remember that a long time ago, people used to claim that this was bad for your health. Not sure why it would suddenly be affecting me now? Maybe someone else can enlighten...

Phew!! thank goodness I'm not alone

Do any of you LI sufferers get migraine? It's just that it can be a symtom of that? I get a 'unheadache' version of migraine so I think there's a link?

I have had one or two instances with pre-headache symptoms (ie. losing peripheral vision, seeing stars/light) when looking at computer before now but not in shopping centre

Dh used to get migraines from some shop lighting. He isn't so bothered these days - I think he's finally growing out of his migraines!!

JuniperDewdrop · 18/10/2004 20:54

glad your dh is ok now suedonim. I think I'm growing into mine

JuniperD. You know, thinking about this, I'm wondering if dh's migraines have improved because he now has to wear glasses. He has those ones that darken/lighten automatically, according to lighting conditions. Perhaps you could try wearing photochromatic (I remembered the name!!)sunglasses when in shops, or maybe go and see an optician and tell them about the problem?

JuniperDewdrop · 19/10/2004 10:02

Cheers suedonim, I was thinking of trying them and I will go to see the optitian. I don't need glasses but the sunglasses sound a good idea.

my mum had to wear photochromatic glasses when she worked in a flourescently lit office years ago

JuniperDewdrop · 19/10/2004 10:13

Did she? What effect did the lighting have on your mum spacemonkey?
