Has anyone ever had ablation for ectopic beats?

Yes I did about 16 years ago, no issues since and recovery was fine. I had SVT

Yes I did about 3 years ago. Changed my life really, still get the occasional episode but it’s totally controllable. Was thinking of one more try to totally sort it out but covid happened.

@OverTheRainbow88 thanks for replying - could I ask if you had just ectopics or SVT?

Did you try medication first? How many ectopics per day were you experiencing?

Thanks!

@blubell875 thank you - that's good to hear!

Have you had any ectopics since?

I had ectopics which caused SVT- was ANVRT.

No I didn’t try medication, initially I kept getting told I was anxious and stressed and then I insisted on an ECG for a week where it was picked up.

Now I get an episode maybe one a Week for a few seconds whereas before my heart could be 240bmp for 2 Hours. I used to get daily episodes

Have you tried the usual- cut out caffeine, alcohol etc

During an episode I hold my breathe and push down and that helps or splash freezing cold water on my face

@OverTheRainbow88 yes I know my trigger - no caffeine/alcohol/stress/indigestion but my ectopics are horrible and I'm currently taking 2.5 mg of beta blocker per day which has helped lower HR but not stop palps.

They are making me anxious and it's a vicious circle Confused

@wineandsunshine no haven't had a single episode since! My heart rate would be 220 bpm for hours at a time and it could be multiple times a day. It was awful, I really felt like it had taken over my life. Thankfully I don't have any issues at all now.

Oh wow, that's amazing!
