I picked up a new pair of glasses a couple of days ago and have been getting headaches and nausea on and off since then. I've worn glasses all my life and have had varifocals for about 6 or 7 years now. These are my third or 4th pair of varifocals and I have never had any difficulty adapting before, so I am a bit unsure what to make of this. The prescription has been changed but the optician said it wasn't major. The change was mainly to my near vision prescription as I had been having to take my old glasses off to read, but my distance vision was pretty much the same as the last pair. I ordered the same brand of lenses with the same coatings etc as my old glasses and the frames are really light so I'd been hoping for increased comfort, not to feel so grotty.
Of course it's sod's law that its a Bank Holiday so I can't contact the optician til Tuesday! I can't decide whether to just swap back to my old glasses for now, or to persevere. I have heard people say that it takes them a while to adjust to new prescriptions, especially with varifocals, so it might just be that I suppose, even though its not happened to me before. If you've had anything like this, how long did it take before it subsided for you?
