Recurring thrombosed haemorrhoids... help me end this horror

So, I keep getting thrombosed haemorrhoids. Three so far since April. If you have suffered from these, I don't need to tell you how painful and distressing they are. I have been to the GP and have creams and suppositories. I am also doing all the self-help measures I can - have lost two stone so far and making sure I eat a fibre-rich diet etc. I guess it is time to ask for a referral but all the treatment options terrify me - surgery and non-surgery. My questions are: which treatment option is best? And why does it keep happening? Is it likely a new one each time or a thrombosis forming in the same one? Any advice appreciated.

Have you used scheriproct. It is one of the best treatments for piles. If your GP has not prescribed it so far then ask for a prescription or you can get it from online pharmacy but it will cost you more. Use it for 7 days and your current situation will resolve.
If you have constipation issues that is causing piles then take magnesium citrate supplements. If you do want to use a stool softener for some time then use liquid paraffin. It is best for piles.
Also buy a portable bidet from Amazon and have sitz bath. Add some cocunut oil in warm to hot water and sit for 20 minutes 2-3 times a day.
If you treat yourself with the above then you don't need surgery. However if you want surgery then it is not complicated but there is no guarantee your piles will stay away.

Thanks for the reply Literallyfedup. I have been given Proctosedyl which does work but will look into Scheriproct. Constipation not an issue luckily. Will also look into sitz baths. Hopefully all measures will help!

I had a whole collection of them at the same time - I have never been in such pain - it was unremitting and and entirely excruciating.

One several such occasion my GP knifed them - let the clot out and the relief was instant - all done in the surgery and just took a few minutes - painless as local used. He said he loved doing it because it was one of the few occasions when the patient was overcome with relief and left with a smile! I am not sure whether GPs still do this.

During the episode when I had so many together I went into hospital and had an anal stretch under general. Basically they knock you out and do "3 fingers for 3 minutes" - i.e. stick fingers up and stretch the anus. That too worked like a charm.

As regards all the suppositories and creams - none ever worked at all.

But spraying the nether regions with hot water in the shower gives temporary relief I found.
