Does anyone know about skin infections?

I have a growth on my stomach that has become infected. I spoke to a GP yesterday and he asked me to send over pics of it. He returned my call and said it's infected. Asked how I was feeling and I felt ok but overnight I've started to feel unwell and the area that's infected and swollen isn't any worse but an area a little lower down near my groin hurts and is red and swollen.
I have to go to collect a prescription today for antibiotics and have called the GP again for another phone consultation. I have anxiety and I'm panicking that it's something worse. Is it normal for another area to become swollen and painful?

So I've been prescribed more antibiotics today and a topical cream. I finished the last course of antibiotics last Wednesday. It still hasn't cleared up properly and the growth keeps weeping and is sore. I keep catching it on my clothes! The skin around it is all really red still too.
GP has said today if this lot of antibiotics doesn't clear it up then I have to go in to the surgery and they will have a look.

After speaking to another GP again today they've finally said they will take a look at it. I'm on another course of antibiotics and have been prescribed antibiotic cream too. It's no where near as painful but it's sore and itchy and still red and swollen around the growth. The growth is hanging on literally by a thread.
