Constant exhaustion and getting no answers

I have been exhausted for a long time, it's gotten worse over the years. I do suffer with debilitating mental health problems and doctors just say that is why I'm exhausted, despite the fact that I am exhausted regardless of my moods. These are my symptoms, has anyone experienced similar?

  • Constantly thirsty
  • Exhausted all the time but particular after lunch
  • Urinating a lot, up to 10 times in the night
  • Tired after eating
  • heartbeat feels slow after eating

I had a blood test done about 6 months ago and nothing flagged up. I take these vitamins: b12, iron and magnesium.

I just want some answers to why I'm so drained all the time.

Have you considered it could be M.E/Chronic Fatigue syndrome?

Have you been tested for diabetes?

Imissmoominmama · 25/08/2020 20:24

I would have said diabetes, had you not had the blood test.

Bagelsandbrie · 25/08/2020 20:25

The drinking and urinating a lot immediately makes me think diabetes... have you been tested for that? That can cause intense fatigue.

Get your cortisol levels tested and ask for an ana blood test - neither of these things are ever routinely done but if they do come back flagged it may point to an autoimmune condition and they can do more tests.

What was the blood test looking for and was it a fasting test?

The symptoms really do read as diabetes, what is your diet like?

RemusLupinsBiggestGroupie · 25/08/2020 20:27

Are your lunches generally quite carb heavy, by any chance? Postprandial hypotension is when blood pressure drops after a meal, and that sense of heartbeat feeling as if it's slowing down could perhaps be linked to that. Eating fewer carbs can help, if this is the case.

Get your vitamin D, B12, folate and ferritin checked too

Notyouraveragecliche · 25/08/2020 20:47

Bloods were fasting bloods, however I have read they're not all that accurate if they're taking past AM (not sure how true this is). The bloods came back OK for that one regardless.

I just feel like every time I mention these symptoms to the doctors, they just pin it on my mental health which I'm sure does aggravate some of the symptoms but not to this extent.

My diet isn't brilliant if Im truly honest, it is a high sugar diet, I am trying to sort this out but I struggle with this massively.

If it is M.E, is there anything I can do to help it?

@Notyouraveragecliche M.E has no official test as in they can't tell from a blood test etc. I had it as a teenager for many years. I was bed bound for months at one point. The only positive is while I do have the ability to sleep at the drop of a hat as an adult, I have grown out of it as far as I can tell. Might be worth mentioning?

Also have you had in depth thyroid tests?
