I’m having a procedure at 10am tomorrow morning under IV sedation
Will I be safe to cosleep that night? LO is almost one... anyone had it before and able to tell me if it impacted on your sleep that night? TIA

I had a procedure done under sedation which took about an hour but I stayed in hospital that night so hard to say how well i would have slept at home. I never hospitals particularly relaxing as there's noise and lights in the background, and I was in quite a bit of pain so drifted in and out of sleep. I slept like a log for about 12 hours the following night when I came home!

That’s that’s really useful. I wondered if I would just feel totally out of it, but maybe I’ll be ok. I imagine I’ll be in pain too so that might keep me up!

You shouldn't ideally. It is recommended don't use ovens, sign legal documents etc so I wouldn't risk it as the sedative will still be in your system.

No, not safe if you are also bed sharing, you could smother your baby.

I wouldn’t for first 24 hours. I had a procedure when my baby was 3 months and she co slept with Dad that night and he brought her to me for feeds and watched to check I didn’t fall asleep and hurt her.

It will depend how much they give you- I have had it twice.
The first time they gave me one big dose and I had no idea what I was doing the rest of the day. I don't remember getting home, I called the same person multiple times, I was completely out of it.
The second time they gave me small dose, then a top up when I needed it. By time I left I was perfectly 'with it'. I obviously wouldn't have driven but i could have, I remembered everything and felt fine.
The first time I would not have co slept, the second time I would. So you might need to see how it affects you.
