Breast biopsy bruising

Wondering if anybody can advise. I had a vacuum assisted breast biopsy 18 days ago and my breast is still black with bruising and tender to touch. I was wondering if anybody had any ideas when this should start to heal up?

Can take a good while I'm afraid if you've bruised badly. It's quite a brutal process.

I've had the vacuum assisted biopsy twice now and it was about a month before the bruising started to fade.

Thank you for reply and sorry you have gone through this too. All letters I have say mild bruising which will fade in a week hence my concern about still having a black bruise.

I have a second larger volume biopsy in a couple of weeks so hopefully it’s starting to fade before then

just in time then for a second lot of bruising - I am sorry. Avoid ibuprofen as it makes any internal bleeding worse. They should be applying plenty of pressure at the end to prevent a haematoma forming.

I've had 2 papillomas removed by vacuum biopsy and one surgically. The surgical removal was a breeze by comparison. I have another 3 at the moment ( I am very unlucky!) and have a meeting for hopefully another surgical intervention at the end of the month.

Oh that’s awful, I have a papillary lesion (is this the same thing?).

Have bought some Arnica tablets in preparation for next biopsy. They helped with internal healing after childbirth and EMCS so hopefully they will work their magic again. Good luck for your appointment

It certainly sounds very similar. Mine have all been completely benign.

The 3 in situ are now causing trouble. As they are benign I'm not a priority but as I'm currently getting emergency GP referrals for them every 4-6 weeks to have the huge painful cyst they produce drained I'm hoping that they will finally do something if only to get rid of me.

To get multiple ones is unusual though. I hope the VAB will be the end of it for you :)
