DP's tooth crown has fallen out. Any advice?

One of DP's front crowns has fallen out, post and all. 😬 Does anyone know if there's anything he can use to temporarily stick it back in? And if that would be treatable at the dentist in whatever phase of Covid 19 we are currently in? TIA.

If the post came out too he needs an emergency dental appointment to seal up the space at a minimum. Yes dentists are seeing patients, my DF is in the process of having a new post and crown put in right now.

Chewing gum?

You can get crown repair kits from the supermarket that give a temporary fix but they do say that you need to see a dentist within 24 hours. Not sure whether you can use them if the post has come out as well.

Don't think chewing gum would work, there's only his gum to attach it to.

Sounds like the tooth has broken at the gum margin, if there's nothing obvious to cement back in. Normally you can reposition a crown easily by slitting it back into the space iyswim? Or if it's on a post you can position it back into the gum?
If it can be put back in, you could use poly grip/fixadent or a temporary crown cement you could find at a pharmacy as a temporary measure.
If the tooth has indeed snapped at the gum margin, the tooth will need further work. Regardless, call your dentist on Monday morning and hopefully they'll be able to look after you. Urgent dental care is allowed in the U.K., and some private practices are starting to open up again for routine stuff too

Thanks all for the advice. He'll call 1st thing on Monday morning and hopefully get an appointment. He'll just have to put up with me laughing at the way he sounds when he's talking until then.

And make sure he is gargling with a alcohol based mouthwash at least twice a day until he can been seen. You dont want bits of food getting stuck in the hole and setting up an infection
