Fecal Impaction, Watery Poo On Day 2?

Hi, my dd (15) was in hospital yesterday from constipation for 2 weeks and severe stomach pains after she ate. They said she has a fecal impaction and to use movicol starting from 4 to 6 to 8 until its cleared... but it's day 2 and she took 6 and now she has already gotten watery bowel movements every hour or two with little bits in it: but they aren't hard bits. I don't know if I should stop it or just keep going and give her the 8 tomorrow and the day afters... could someone help or let me know if that is normal?

Hi OP - I'm not a medical professional but I do believe that watery poos don't necessarily mean the impaction has cleared, I think it can be 'overflow' from the softer stools behind. I would keep on with the treatment as prescribed just to be sure.

Keep going. This is still over flow. Once the movicol softens the main blockage she will know about it. It’s very impressive.

Check about a long term maintenance plan as once it’s cleared it will come straight back if not careful. Look up lazy bowel and the ERIC website.

Thanks, she never had the overflow to begin with for the two weeks so I just wasn't sure. I'll keep giving it to her just in hope that it helps.
