Anyone else an extremely light sleeper?

I'm in the 20s and the slightest noise wakes me up. I hardly get any sleep and 99% of the time once I'm awake that's it, I'm awake.

Currently live with my partner and the windows in our hour are terrible (don't by Gleason). If a car drives past our home at night that wakes me up. We are currently looking to move, but wondering if anyone has any tips in the mean time?

I use to be a really heavy sleeper, however did camp America in my early 20s and was very aware I was in charge of 12 teenage girls all night and would wake up very easily incase one was upset or sick. Ever since then I struggle to sleep.

Additional info: I have tried ear plugs and they just don't work, tried loads of different ones and must by the shape of my hears because it blocks out no noise.

Fan or white noise machine.

You might get more sleep in a room separate from your partner.

I have a white noise machine ( not phone as the apps make slight noise changes that wake me) - the machine sounds like a fan ( so I use a fan in the summer) My husband is fine with them and actually says he sleeps better too. I put in ear plugs too but agree they don’t work . I have black out blinds , good mattress , pillows etc etc . These aren’t a total solution but they help . When desperate I take a drowsy antihistamine which seems to stop me obsessing about outside sounds

Great, thanks both! Going to give a fab or white noise machine a go!
Also going to try pillow spray if anyone's ever tried it?

We have a really good mattress which is so comfy and blackout blinds so lucky in that way.

I'm a shockingly light sleeper. Once I'm awake, I'm wide awake for an hour or more.

I sleep much better if a fan is going (I have one of the tower ones). I also occasionally take a Boots Sleepeeze tablet, which is a like a strong anti-histamine.

Ear plugs have never worked for me. They either fall out or hurt.
