Any dentists around? Maryland bridge and bonded retainer

I have an appointment with my lovely dentist soon but just trying to mentally prepare myself with possible outcomes.

My front tooth had a failed rct. My new dentist retreated the rct about 4 years ago. Since then I've had my upper teeth straightened (purely cosmetic, not full on orthodontics) and have a bonded retainer. My bottom arch has one tooth that is minimally rotated so opted not to do bottom arch. Can't see it when I smile anyway.

My rct treated tooth is niggling at the moment. Feeling of pressure if I press on it on the front surface near the biting edge of the tooth (though oddly not if I press on the biting edge or on the front surface near the gumline).

Now I'm absolutely hoping that I've just been clenching as this is something I used to do when stressed and the bottom tooth that is ever so slightly rotated does meet my top rct tooth if I thrust my jaw out and clench. Dh says I thrust out my bottom jaw when I clench my teeth...

If my rct has failed again I dont suppose there's much that can be done to save it and extraction will be on the cards. I'm mid 30s and absolutely not prepared to leave a gap at the front of my mouth. Looking at options for replacement, an implant looks like gold standard but I'd have to save for a good few years as they're ££££. A maryland/bonded bridge seems like the best next option as the teeth either side are healthy.

My question is, if I had a Maryland bridge, what could be done about my bonded retainer? Can that just be bonded on top? I also wear a removable retainer 4 nights a week so guessing if just need a new one made. Is this a possibility?

At the moment im just preparing for the worst case scenarios and I know I can ask my dentist all of this but I tend to get in a flap and forget things so just scoping things out for now. Sorry this was so long! Well done if you got to the end!

First step- call your Dental Practice and tell them you are having problems. They should be able to tell you when they'll be able to see you.
Do you have a bite guard already? If not think about getting one made, the fact that your husband can tell you what you do when you grind makes me think you do it regularly. Hopefully you have been clenching and the tooth is bruised, it's amazing how we contort our jaws when we grind, so you may be able to get your teeth into contact somehow.
IF the tooth is unsaveable you're right an implant is gold standard. Costs vary enormously so ask your dentist for local prices before you rule it out.
A Maryland can be bonded to one or two teeth so potentially the retainer could be clipped and retained on the other teeth and they you have a removable retainer to retain the unwired teeth and bridge. You can put wires into grooves on wings of bridges but it's a pain if they need replacement. An Essix type retainer is quick, easy and relatively cheap.
So much depends on your bite, lip position, rotations of your teeth. You need to see your dentist to know what is going on and your options.

@MillyMollyMardy thank you. I have an appointment on monday so will hopefully know more then. I do have a guard but occasionally go through periods of clenching during the day when I'm not wearing it. Normally at super stressful times so that's another reason I think it may be that as current climate hasn't exactly been plain sailing (we're a household of nhs and primary school staff). I haven't had issues from clenching for over a year now but as far as I can remember it feels very similar to last time I was told I had a sprained tooth! Fingers crossed that's all it is and I can relax now its summer hols
