Hospital calls?

Throughout this month I keep receiving calls from a hospital (well, google suggests that it’s the hospital’s number). They do not leave voicemail (nor have they sent letters) and I can’t call them back on that number (it just disconnects).

Do you think this is actually the hospital getting in touch or not?

I have 2 referrals at said hospital for different issues. but can’t think of why they would need to get in touch via phone. I have tried to call the hospital but neither department have any information. I’m not waiting on results etc, I’m just waiting on appointments which are usually sent via letter.

Have you spoken to appointments? It could be them ringing to arrange something.

Hospitals are phoning a lot at moment. Some appts are face to face, others telephone. For some things patients need to have covid swabs 48 hours prior etc. Suggest phone the Central bookings dept or pick up phone when they call!

DP is currently having a lot of appointments - our telephone calls have been coming through as private call so second you calling the bookings number to see if they are trying to get through.

I am working from home and have been on the phone each time they’ve called. There’s been 3 calls, a week apart each.

I tried the appointments line, there’s nothing on their system to suggest anyone is trying to get in touch (the secretaries of the consultants at both departments said the same.) No one knows where to direct my call.

Hospitals tend not to leave voicemails esp if your voicemail is generic and does not identify whose phone it is.

They also often call from a number that cannot receive incoming calls.

And somebody calling you without recording it on the system for anyone else to help you is pretty standard.

All sounds consistent with the NHS.
