Pain just below inner ankle bone

I've had a periodic pain in my foot just where my ankle bone joins it for a few months. It's on the inner side below the sticky-out bone (bottom of my tibia?).

I've not injured myself. It's getting worse. It hurts if I press it and tends to throb in the evening.

Does anyone know what this might be?

OP I could have written this myself.

No idea what it is but hoping someone else has an idea

Are you sporty OP? Just wondering if it could be a stress fracture. The fact that it hurts when you press made me wonder. I'm sure there are many other things it could be.

I cycle or walk everywhere but swimming was my sport before all this kicked off. I've not run or climbed for years.

How long have you had it @Violetroselily?

Ah, apparently low vitamin D can cause stress fractures which I had last year. So thank you @acocadochocolate.

Either way, I'd better see my GP I suppose. It's not getting any better.

@MinnieMountain about 6 months or so? It has definitely been more prominent recently and is worse after exertion.

I'm also a swimmer and a walker. I'm beginning to wonder if it's something to do with my gait - I did alot of walking yesterday and my left foot is sore today. But I'm not sure why that would make it hurt when I touch it - it almost feels bruised when I press down. Sometimes it feels as though I need to give all of the bones a good crack, almost as if they are compressed somehow?

I think a visit to the podiatrist is in order now...

Podiatrist is also a good idea - if you get no joy from the GP. Could even be as simple as you need more arch support.
