Did you get rid of Keratosis pilaris/ rough bumpy skin?

I've just found out that there's a name for the rough skin on my arms- Keratosis pilaris. I've always had it and have just read that it can go by itself at around 30 years old. I'm 33 so I guess it's not going to do that!

Has anyone managed to improve theirs or make it go completely? If so what did you do?

I've noticed mine gets slightly better in the summer but still not enough to stop me feeling self conscious about them.

Thanks

(I'll report this to get it moved to general health)

I think I probably had a fairly mild case, but I found scrubbing with a fairly rough towel after showering really helped. Can well believe it’s probably not the beat approach, but worked for me!

@Cydonia It's not cheap, but for me if it means I can wear shorts/skirts without feeling self conscious I decided it was worth it. The big clinics like Skn etc always seem to have sales on, I went with Courthouse Clinics, but don't think they're as widely spread. For a rough idea of cost for you, I paid approx 600 for 6 sessions (they recommend 6-8) and that's underarm, bikini and lower leg, and this was a ½ price offer

I don't find Flexitol very user friendly.

The BEST thing I have found is Cerave SA cream. It works brilliantly.

Yes I think you’re right, I think if it helps it’s worth every penny. Have you seen an improvement in the KP aswell?

Cydonia · 07/07/2020 23:40

Sorry that comment was for @Lellochip Smile

@Cydonia I don't have KP myself, just use the ameliorate to try to help ingrowns & scars. And covid interrupted the laser after my first session so not too much to report yet! 🤦🏻‍♀️

I‘ve tried just about every KP cream there is. Nip + Fab Glycolic Body Fix lotion is the best I have found and not a bad price.
