Jaw Ache

What can I do about this? I've endured for years but cut back on pain killer use 4 months ago so am noticing it more.

My jaw and face just constatley ache. Its always clenched and even when I make an effort to relax it I realise it is not.

It's really started to become unbearable. I've tried exercises on line. It has started to crunch recently too.

Sounds like tmj/grinding/clenching your teeth while you sleep. You should use a mouth guard at night and see a dentist as soon as possible.

Thinking about it, my exercise has significantly increased too over last few months. Even back of tongue aches.

Same here. I’m trying Botox, however it’s early days. Apparently, by injecting small doses of Botox directly into the large muscle that moves your jaw, the muscle is weakened enough to stop involuntary grinding of the teeth and clenching of the jaw. This is supposed to significantly relaxes the muscle and reduces the wear and tear on the teeth due to grinding.

I dont think I am griding but certainly clenching and I just don't know how not too. My gums are also terribly receeded but I do everything they say. Wonder if related.

Did you see a GP or dentist?

For the last few months I have had constant pain in my right jaw. I haven’t been able to see or talk to a GP. The nurse practiser just said it wasn’t uncommon and not to worry!
At the same time I have daily headaches. Neither seems quite bad enough for painkillers despite the constant dull ache. When I asked GP (telephone) about the headaches she just said that if I didn’t have neurological symptoms it wouldn’t be a brain tumour. I had breast cancer in 2006 so have a degree of health anxiety about secondary cancer. I get beside myself with worry and have no one to consult.
